DETROIT – A firefighter is recovering after falling through the floor while battling a house fire.
WXYZ-TV in Detroit reported the incident occurred on Detroit’s east side around 2 a.m. on Wednesday. EMS rushed one firefighter to St. John’s hospital after the fall from the second floor.
The firefighter was conscious and able to walk with help, according to the TV station. Crews remained on scene until the fire was extinguished.
The firefighter has not been identified by name and the cause of the fire has not been released.
